Burkhan Khaldun: The name of this forested mountain in the territory of Yumnadelger soum, which means “fortified by the first”, became a place of worship in the 12th century. However, in the 17th century, Mongolian historians associated it with the word “burhan”, so the original meaning of the word was forgotten. When Temujin was young, he hid in the Burkhan Khaldun mountain several times when he was being pursued by enemies like the Three Wise Men. After he came down from the mountain, he said:
Let us worship Burkhan Khaldun every morning, Let us worship him every day, The meaning of which has been forgotten. “May the womb of the womb know…” He put his belt around his neck and bowed down to the nine gods, which is a sign of how much he worshipped this mountain.
It is said that it is sacred and should be kept secret because it contains the remains of ancestors. It is one of the four mountains with state sanctity, and is celebrated on a state level by worshipping the state emblem.
